Parkour & Freerunning
Parkour is the sport of moving along a route, typically in a city, trying to get around or through various obstacles in the quickest and most efficient manner possible, as by jumping, climbing, or running
Freerunning is a movement art that borrowes skills from many other movement sports like Parkour, Tricking, Gymnastics, Brake Dancing and many more. A Freerunner will take these skills and apply them to objects in an urban enviornment similar to the ares where a Parkour practitioner would train. For this reason many athletes practice both Parkour and Freerunning but its important to remember that they are two different sports.
Parkour & Freerunning does not start on rooftops and certainly does not start with jumping across them. Both sports can be practiced on ground level by people of any age, gender, and physical ability. The media has sensationalized Parkour as a rooftop sport but many pracitioners train there whole life without ever jumping between rooftops and that's perfectly fine.
